Cuba Partnership
First Union Presbyterian Church has developed a relationship with the Church of the Good Shepherd, a Presbyterian Reformed Church in Cuba. Our "sister church" is located in the village of Union de Reyes in the province of Matanzas, which is in northwestern Cuba. The church was founded in the early 1900's, and the present sanctuary building was built beginning in 1914. The Rev. Yampier Sanchez Bravo has been pastor of the church since 2004. Rev. Bravo has recently proposed a "Project of Integra Care to the Children and Adolescents of the Community", which will involve opeining the church to children in the congregation and the community for recreation, excursions and Bible School. FUPC will be supporting this project with a special offering in December. There is hope that in the next year or two, some members of our congregation may be able to make a mission trip to Cuba to visit our sister church.

Mission Is Possible is the First Uion Presbyterian mission team. It is sponsored by the FUPC Evangelism and Outreach Committee, and was formed in response to the recovery needs after Hurricane Katrina. Our ministry provides rebuilding assistance to churches and families in need in the greater New Orleans area. Our regular workday is the first Saturday of the month, and the team meets at FUPC at 7:00am.
First Union Presbyterian Church reaches out to our community by making our church facilities avaialble to a number of non-profit organizations, such as the Girl Scouts and Alcoholics Anonymous. If you or your organization need meeting facilities, please contact our church office at 985-785-8486, or email us at FUPCLuling@aol.com
